This Is a rant

Standard

The following is a rant. Take that as a warning.
I’ve always seen wolves, mountain lions and many other persecuted animals as beautiful wondrous creatures.
While other people see pests who eat their livestock, I see majestic animals that have much more claim to the land than we do.
Other people see a wolf pack and say but the wolves are being mean to each other. I see a society that functions well.
Maybe I am a bit biased because many animals the world sees as pests and predators to be destroyed we have inside.
The young child whom has a wolf protector inside, always comes front when she hears wolves howling. Recently she came out and as is my way, I watched what she was watching, not to spy but just to keep an eye on her, she’s a fragile child. The show was a national geographic show about wolves in yellowstone. They followed a pack of wolves as they were brought from canada to yellowstone and released into the wild. Then they continued to watch them from a distance to see how they adapted.
As part of the show they talked about the history of wolves in yellowstone, and how back around the 30’s yellowstone helped farmers around the area destroy all the wolves in and around the park. It was hideous. I had to change the channel until that part was over. There were literally dozens upon dozens of wolves dead hanging from racks. It makes me emotional to write that, and I am not known for emotions.
Now the wolves are thankfully back in yellowstone. It is a shame there is such concern that if they cross park bounds they will be killed by herders. That really angers me.They showed a demonstration by the park with people from the area, who were saying that their families had been herders and farmers for generations and the wolves would eventually ‘destroy their livelihood’. What about the wolves? What about the generations of their packs?
Why do so many in society believe that anything they feel threatens us as the ‘top’ of the food chain, threaten us into killing them?Like it or not we are not the top of the food chain. We have use of thought in different ways than animals that is true. It is that that makes us foolish.
I hope that the wolves win the fight to stay in yellowstone. Sadly the first alpha male of the pack they were following was found shot outside park boundaries.
It saddens me to think of wolves having to live in zoos. It is really sad that it is a safe place for them. Animals shouldn’t be in zoos.Yet for some, if there were no zoos there might not be any of them.
I see and read about countless wolf sanctuaries.I am so very glad those places exist. Yet it is sad they have to exist. Why can’t we just let nature and her animals be? I believe we are guests on this earth, and yet we treat it like we own it.
When we move into an animals land, particulary an animal like a mountain lion, what do we think will happen? There is only so much land and we push animals who need wide territories close together and we are surprised when it doesn’t end well? And for what, more Mcdonalds? More malls?Wendy’s? and all the other countless places you see every few blocks?Do we really need more of those places?
For me, for us here. Animals like wolves, bears, mountain lions, tigers, etc are protectors. They protected some fragile berriez when people were the enemy. When people hurt you these animals didn’t.
I’ll end with this:
This child and other children have asked countless times if we can just take the animals of the world who need homes inside with us.It is very hard to have to try to explain why that is not possible. If it was possible I would do it without a thought. In fact I wish it was possible. Our world inside is full of space and habitats of all kinds for animals

I Really Like This So I’m Sharing

Soaring Eagle with vision true
see all that is below,
Notice what is new.

King of the air,
Sacred bird of the Spirits,

Wise and strong and seldom seen aloft,
Lend me your vision so I may see what is true.

Strength fills your mighty talons,
Courage fills your spirit
and beats in your heart.
Your mighty wings spread wide and shadow all that lies below.

Great Eagle,
Symbol of victory and might,
I call on your independence,
And the courage of your heart.

Moving with the speed of your sacred feathers,
Eagle lend me your eyes.
Make my vision keen and true;
Make my spirit to soar.

Open my mind
to your many visions.
Strengthen my grip to the tenacity
of your steely talons.

Spirit of wisdom,
fill me with guidance on my eagle flight.
Independence grows in me daily, tempered with respect.

Courage grows in me daily, tempered with judgment.
Keen sight fills my eyes, tempered with discernment.

Strength fills my body,
tempered with restraint.

I fly free with brother eagle.

So mote it be.

If I could give

Standard

If I could give one thing to anyone……….
This prompt comes from a journal group. My answer is a bit too personal to share there.

I would give acceptance of the way the bitch (AKA the body’s mother) is to Berriez. I would give much for them to accept she is who she is and won’t ever change.

Specifically I would give  JakNoone The abilty to accept that and move on with life.  Jak is a special Berrie who recently had to go to sleep for awhile because of upset at the realization the mother will never see her as someone.

Strange-Meagan

Strange– Meagan
A strange thing happened earlier. I was standing at the kitchen sink, wiping off the counters. There is a cut out behind the sink that lets me see into the living room. As I was wiping off the counters I saw something move. When I looked up I fucking kid you not I saw a person. I wish I had gotten a better look. The person turned and walked towards the bedroom, I followed and of course there was no person there.
I know I know I was seeing things right? I am 1000% convinced I saw a person.
It isn’t unusual for Berriez to see things. Usually it is animals though. In fact when laying in bed in the morning you can feel a cat’s footsteps, and then feel them cuddle next to you. Only when you look there is no cat. Strange I know.

Everything is backwards-Heidi

Everything Is backwards-Heidi
“Modern civilization has no understanding of sacred matters. Everything is backwards.”
–Thomas Yellowtail, CROW
Modern civilization says, don’t pray in school; don’t pray at work; only go to church on Sunday. If you don’t believe what I believe, you’ll go to hell. Deviancy is normal. Our role models cheat, drink and run around; these are the people in the news. The news sells bad news; no one wants to hear good news. Kids are killing kids. Victims have little protection. Violence is normal. Leaders cheat and lie. Everything is backwards. We need to pray for spiritual intervention. We need to have guidance from the Creator to help us rebuild our families, our communities and ourselves.

I think it goes further than that. Modern Civilization doesn’t believe in sacred matters. I’m not into praying. I don’t think necessarily we have to pray for guidance from the creator (Whatever Creato you believe in). I do think that we need to get out heads out our asses and pay attention. Everything is backwards. Worse than that many seem okay with that. They have exuses for everything, yet nobody takes responsibility for anything. It’s a blame everyone else society. Unfortunatly some groups get blamed more than others. I didn’t live back in time. So I can’t say it was different then. I do think society is more tolerant of most everything. It’s a shame.
I am and have always been curious about religon. All religons. It always struck me as strange how asking someone about their believes most often ended in their saying I’ll go to hell or some form of that response. They are so close minded. After awhile I noticed a trend. Someone can rattle off what they believe, But it is rare that a person can acutally answer questions about there faith. Most get flustered and resort to name calling and the like. As if asking questions is wrong. I think many people don’t know what they believe they go to the church their family went to week after week without knowing what they believe. Is that faith? (People don’t like to be asked that either).
I wish I could recall where i read this. It may have been a buddhist book (don’t hold me to that) It said that different people accept religion in different ways. Therefore there are different forms of it. What appeals to one may not appeal to others. The acutal faith was not the issue.
I won’t lie either. While I am intersted and yes fascinated by learning about religons, I don’t necessarily believe in any of them. The reasons don’t matter.
I don’t know that our role models are cheating, drinking, runing around, or doing any of the other things any more than they ever did. The difference i think is now the media reports it because society it seems craves it. Kids killing kids. I could make that an entire enry here and maybe some day I will, for now I will say that people wonder why that happens and yet they don’t hear the kids, they have kids to fit into societies ideas of normal. Children are bullied, abused, and alls orts of things. that is not an exuse to kill other kids, nothing is. But you have to treat the problem not a symptom of the problem.
Agree with me or not, everyone is entitled to their views. While I am open always to discussions I will never respond to attacks on the subject of religon, whether from others in the group or from within the berriez.
In Peace,
Heidi
